The International Institute and the Division of Social Sciences at UCLA seek to fill an assistant professor position in the social sciences. The successful candidate must have an outstanding research profile focused on international development or globalization and transnational processes. The position will involve an appointment in one of the Division’s departments, with graduate teaching in the department and undergraduate teaching responsibilities in the Institute’s interdisciplinary programs in Global Studies or International Development Studies. Though undergraduate responsibilities will entail interdisciplinary teaching, successful candidates are expected to excel in the relevant social science discipline. Consideration will also be given to those candidates who show experience in outreach or mentoring for underrepresented groups. Applicants from all disciplines of the social sciences are encouraged to apply.

A completed PhD by June 30, 2012 is required.
